In the case of A where～.…：～であるAの場合、…である。

（In the case of tire applications where high fracture resistance is requested, polybutadienes having very high 1,4 cis content should be used.）

　第6回目は、「～の場合、」「～ならば」等の状況や対象を限定する場合の英文での表現法です。

1．“in the case ～”を用いた「～の場合、」の表現法

例1：In the case of tire applications where high fracture resistance is requested, polybutadienes having very high 1,4 ciscontent should be used.
（高い耐破断性が要求されるタイヤへの応用の場合、非常に高いシス1,4-含量のポリブタジエンが使用されるべきである。）

例2：A prolonged cure time in the case of the devulcanized rubber may possibly indicate the breakdown and reformation of the polysulfidic linkages leading to a reduction in their number.
（脱硫ゴムの場合は、長時間加硫でポリスルフィド加硫鎖の開裂と再配置で、加硫鎖の硫黄原子数の減少になることを、示すことになるだろう。）

①例1は“in the case of～”の文頭使用例、例2は文中使用例。
②例1では、“In the case of～”の文を、”where”以下の文で説明。
③この他に、“In the former case、”（前者の場合）、“In the latter case,”（後者の場合､）の表現法もある。

2．whereを用いた状況限定の表現法

例3：ABC results for NR exhibit much lower rates of crack growth under certain strain and temperature conditions where strain crystallization can occur.
（伸長による結晶化が起こるような、ある種の伸長条件と温度条件のもとでは、NRに対するABCの結果は、非常に低いクラック成長速度を示唆する。）

例4：In the absence of sulfur, where the amounts of ABC are lower, the XYZ concentrations are higher.
（硫黄未添加では、ABCの量がより少なくなり、XYZの濃度はより高くなる。）
